The Primanima World Festival of First Animations has opened in Budaörs on Wednesday, twice! In the afternoon the new venue BABtér, the Budaörs Animation and Creative Space has launched which is going to be a new location of the festival. The initiative is supported by the city of Budaörs, Illyés Art Academy and the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design.
Péter Árendás, the headmaster of Illyés Academy recalled the time when the animation trainings first started in Budaörs, and marks BABtér as a new chapter in the animation education in the town, which will be lead by a dedicated team: Tamás Patrovits, József Spányik, Kinga Ráthonyi, Máté Orsolya. In the venue, they plan to organize animation and art workshops and film events and this could be a permanent place for Primanima. Rektor of MOME, József Fülöp stressed that the Hungarian animation develops if there is space for the new talents to find their own voices and can also learn the responsibility how to create moving images in an enviroment where children are exposed to media every day.
In addition, in BABtér there was the opening of the exhibition V4Fanzine with the introduction by its curator Eszter Komornik. The V4Fanzine is an international initiative, in which the artist from Visegrad countries created a publication including images using the cultural symbols from each country.
Later in the evening, in the Jókai Mór Cultural House, a representative from the City Hall opened the festival, and the Tamás Patrovits, festival director, and Anna Ida Orosz programme curator welcomed the jury.
